Dulwich Hill Public School is proud to have a canteen managed by the School P&C and is therefore not-for-profit and provides healthy food at a reduced cost to parents and carers.
It is staffed by two Canteen Co-Ordinators and two P&C parent volunteers that oversee the Canteen management. We also have a few parent or grandparent volunteers on our busy days.
Due to Covid changes, we operate the canteen as a cash-less, ‘dark kitchen’ with no contact with the children and all orders are placed online.
The canteen is not open to the children to purchase items themselves during the lunch or recess break.
Flexischools
We have partnered with Flexischools to make school lunches even easier
Flexischools is an online ordering system that allows you to easily place all your canteen orders online at any time, for multiple children and also reoccurring weekly orders.

NSW Healthy School Canteen
Our Canteen is an accredited NSW Healthy School Canteen and we provide healthy meals and snacks that are hand-made daily in our canteen for students and staff.
Everyday meals are cooked in-house and provide a balance of protein, carbohydrates and vegetables to ensure the kids have food to power their brains and bodies for the rest of the day!
Our snacks and drinks have a Health Star Rating of 3½ stars or higher, which means they are lower in sugar and fats.
Our range of drinks are rated 5 Stars and are sugar-free, sweetened by fruit juice or by the natural sweetener, Stevia.
Sustainability
During the last two years, our canteen team have worked on reducing waste and created a more sustainable canteen that is plastic-free.
We are always looking at ways to reduce the packaging coming into the canteen and recycle all glass, soft plastics, hard plastics, foil, metals and collect the drink aluminium cans and tetra packs for Return & Earn. Watch out for new sustainable initiatives that will be introduced as COVID restrictions are eased.
Volunteering in the Canteen
From time to time we require volunteers in the canteen. With COVID restrictions, we can only have a limited number of volunteers and staff in the canteen at any one time.
We will send out a notice on Facebook, in the newsletter or via the Flexischool app when volunteer positions are next available. If you would like to join our Volunteer waitlist, please email dullycanteen@gmail.com
