The String Group performs annually in the State Schools Festival of Instrumental Music Concerts in the Sydney Opera House, at Community Nights and in local community events.
The Strings Program is coordinated by Darius Kaperonis. Junior and Senior String Groups are run in the music demountable before and after school.

After having taken lessons for about a year, students should have the skills to join the string group. 6-7 is a good time to start playing violin or cello, although there is no problem with starting a little earlier or later. The school owns a small number of instruments which are available for hire. Alternately, cheap second hand instruments can be hired or purchased from local music stores.
