NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.
Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.
The following denominations offer SRE classes at Dulwich Hill Public School:
- Catholic – Kindy to Year6
- Greek Orthodox – Kindy to Year 6
Classes are 30 minutes and are held on a Wednesday afternoon from 2.40pm to 3.15pm. If parents wish to make any changes to this arrangement, they should advise the school in writing.
Students who do not attend SRE either remain in their classroom under teacher supervision or may participate in ethics classes if classes are available.
Ethics classes are offered to students from Kindy to Year 6 who do not attend SRE- Special Religious Education classes. The number of classes offered depends on the number of parents who volunteer to run the classes. Ethics classes are held every Wednesday for 30 minutes. Expressions of interest in teaching classes are accepted from parents who have completed the appropriate processes.
